Akshaya Navami, also known as Amla Navami, is a Hindu festival dedicated to the worship of the Amla tree. It falls on the ninth day of the bright fortnight of the Hindu month of Kartik. Devotees observe fasts, perform puja, and offer prayers to the Amla tree on this day.
The word "Akshaya" means eternal, never diminishing, and this day is believed to bring good health, wealth, and prosperity to those who observe it with devotion. It is also considered an auspicious day for starting new ventures and important activities. The festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion in many parts of India.
On Akshaya Navami, people decorate their homes and temples with flowers and rangoli, and offer fruits and sweets to the Gods. This day is also considered ideal for charity and donations, as it is believed that any act of giving on this day multiplies manifolds. In addition to the customary rituals, cultural programs and fairs are also organized to mark the occasion.
